Baby Aubrey

I did mom's maternity pictures not too long ago - I couldn't wait to meet this little one!  She was awake and alert for the whole session, but was just the sweetest little angel.  Meet Aubrey :)

Caleb

My last senior portrait of the season...it's always a little sad when this time rolls around, I thrive on the hustle and bustle.  But alas, Caleb was a great way to go out.

Baby Ali

Meet Baby Ali.  She was two weeks old at the time of the shoot and was an absolute angel!  She did lots of sleeping, debunking the theory that babies can't sleep in my studio.  (Thanks goodness!)  I was actually supposed to do Mom's maternity pictures, but Ali decided she couldn't wait to join the world and Mom went into labor the night before our shoot!  Well worth it, cause here she is :)

Halloween with Hannah McKenzie Photography

Visit me at my studio on Halloween Night and bring your little one to have their portrait taken in their costume!  Multiple print sizes and specialty products available, including stickers and note cards!

Kayla, Mike and Baby Beane

My first maternity shoot - I think it went pretty well.  They're a gorgeous couple who absolutely adore each other.  I can't wait to meet Baby Beane in a couple of weeks and be the first to take her pictures :)

Jake

It was so refreshing to have a boy that was into senior portraits!  Every location I came up with, Jake was game.  Check it out!

Baby Kylea

Apparently my studio prohibits babies from sleeping - we finally got this little girl to snooze soundly after a couple of hours, but it was worth the wait.  Meet Kylea!

I promised...

Casting Call!

Calling all mommies to be!

I'm putting a casting call out to expectant mothers who are willing to commit to a maternity session and a newborn session within the first two weeks of babies brand new life.

My packages for maternity and newborn sessions normally start at $150 and $175, but for the first 10 lucky mommies to contact me and book solid dates, I'm offering a double package, with both a maternity and newborn session for just $75.

Here's the lowdown:

I'm only accepting ten participants, and they must (and I mean must) be willing to commit to both a maternity session and a newborn session within the first two weeks after baby makes her debut.

It does not matter when you're due!  You don't have to be ready to pop or due within the next month, I just need solid dates and a definite commitment based on your due date.  We can reconvene once it gets closer to time to welcome your little bundle.

The newborn shoot must occur within two weeks after baby gets here.  I know this is a hectic time!  I don't know how many times my own mother has told me the story about taking my oldest brother to his two week checkup, alone, at 9AM, and on the way, pulling back her coat to make sure she had her dress on because she didn't remember putting on clothes.  However, two weeks is the limit for babies wanting to be curled up and sleepy.  Plus, your little one grows at an astonishing rate in the beginning (as any mom can tell you), and we want to capture her just how she is.

You will receive an 8X10 from each session.

Okay, that's all...please commence flooding my inbox with questions and inquiries :)

Weddings, Portraits and Families, OH MY!

I photographed a wedding this past weekend and it went AWESOME.  Which is great, because it had potential to be a really long day (and it was a long day...12 hours from start to finish, but it was a GOOD long day).  The step mother of the bride called me the Sunday  before and asked if the bride had talked to me about coming to the hair salon while they got ready.  Nope, no problem, what time?  8AM?  Oh, okay that sounds GREAT!  But i tried to keep a positive attitude and I think for the most part it worked out well.  I got some really great shots AND got to hang out with one of my besties from college, because she came along as my second shooter to gain some experience.  Will, of course, post pictures soon.

I have my first senior portrait of the season tomorrow.  Hopefully the weather holds out and we get some really great shots.  AND I've booked a family portrait for the 10th - things are really rolling!  I love how busy summer is :)

On the negative, I have to have an MRI on my wrist tomorrow.  I have a cyst, and now something else has started hurting, which they couldn't find with an XRay, soo full tissue scan it is.  It's my shootin' hand :(  Hopefully if I have to have surgery the recovery won't be awful.

Just Because I Need to Get Started...

I need to get back into blogging - I think it's important for any professional in the art world - so - I will attempt to make it a regular thing to update this blog.

I've had two previous blogs (with Tumblr).  One that documented my life as a recent college graduate (starting my business and searching for jobs) and one that was just a random jumble of stuff, but, tumblr will no longer let me log in...so here I am.

Enjoy!
